Akimbo painting are only getting started, they don’t have the capacity to paint large amounts of cars, and they have a very limited marketing budget. Being a fresh start-up that’s not desperate for work, Akimbo Painting are in an advantageous position. They realized the long term potential of low cost, low effort, slow-roll marketing efforts. Their marketing will simply grow with them. While they are starting out, their website and social media strategy are planted seeds that will grow.
So why the website? For Akimbo Painting it serves the following purposes:
- A live portfolio they can show potential customers
- Price / service index so they don’t have to keep repeating themselves
- An online home, a hub and a contact portal “here’s my website”
- A way to communicate their brand identity
- Increase trust and offer information
- Share content, building their online presence
A website is great even when you’re small. You no longer have to ask people what social media they use or bother exchanging phone numbers, you can simple tell them to go to your website. Starting early, Akimbo Painting won’t need to scramble to intensify their marketing efforts as they reach new milestones. They will already have loads of content and marketing collateral. The main thing with Akimbo, as with many other small companies, their online strategy is simple, easy and fun. They need to concentrate on painting cars. Because they are passionate about cars, every time they work on a car, they can document the process and post about it.
Every car they work on goes on their blog. This is where they can link videos, and go into lots of nerdy detail about the how what and why. It’s even cool for the customer, because they can plug their customers with links. Imagine you have a bakery, and you get Akimbo to paint you car, and when they’re done, they plug your bakery! The more likely scenario, you have a cool car with a social media profile. Akimbo paints it and posts about it, boosting your page! Would you ever expect a painter to plug your page? These blog posts do a lot for search engines in the long-term. Back and forth linking in the long-term will push them up in the Google rankings. By the time they’re ready to push their marketing, if they keep up with running their page well, their website will be one step ahead and start attracting organic traffic.
Akimbo Painting is a Tier 2 package. It’s a multi page website, with a blog, contact form and integrated social media, in this case, featuring Instagram. Like all our websites, it has brute force login protection and HTTPS (hypertext transfer protocol secure) as standard features. For a bit of fun and something special, we also worked on a VIP page together with Akimbo Painting. The VIP area is password protected. We encourage viewers to ‘crack’ the password. The password can either be found out through hints on the Akimbo Painting website, social media hints, told to them by other customers / viewers or told to them by Akimbo Painting themselves. The VIP section features some free desktop wallpapers and a special discount offer on all Akimbo Painting services.
